Was a politician from the Christian Social Party and Austrian Chancellor from 1932. Under his leadership, democracy was abolished in Austria and the one-party ‘Christian Ständestaat’ dictatorship was established with the support of the Catholic Church. Dollfuß was assassinated by Austrian Nazis in 1934.
