Under National Socialism, a killing facility in a castle near Alkoven in Upper Austria. Mentally and phsically disabled people as well as mentally ill people were murdered in the gas chamber at Hartheim. Later on, sick and weak prisoners in the concentration camps, especially Mauthausen and Gusen, were also murdered here.
