Reichswerke Hermann Göring

A large industrial company that established a site in Linz

in 1938 under National Socialism. Concentration camp prisoners had to perform forced labour in the iron and steelworks; there was a subcamp of the Mauthausen concentration camp at the site. The Reichswerke Hemann Göring in Linz became VÖEST (nowadays known as voestalpine) after the Second World War.
