Triangle, red

The downward-pointing triangle was a cloth badge that prisoners had to sew onto their clothing.

 The colour of the triangle indicated the reason for their imprisonment. The red triangle was used for 'Political PRisoners' - the Nazis banned all other political parties and opinions.
